Travel and Venue Information
Notice that parking is free on weekends anywhere that is green in this pdf map. The lots labled Squires Lot F/S/V and Architecture Annex/Media Lots (top righ hand corner) are the closest lots to the venue. Metered parking spaces are also available for short–term visitors on–campus. Visitors with parking permits may not park free at parking meters.
NOTE: The competition is being held in the Graduate Life Center Multipurpose Room. You can enter to the main entrance of the building but we recommend entering in the side entrance, closest to the Squires parking lot as that entrance leads directly to the entrance of the Multipurpose room.
There are multiple hotels located around the school located near the venue. Feel free to search results here.
We will not be catering food. There are many places for dining during lunch a few minutes away from the venue by walking. Feel free to search results here.
ALL COMPETITORS MUST READ THIS TAB BEFORE REGISTERING.
If you are a first time competitor, please read this section carefully. If you are a returning competitor, please skip to the next section.
There are multiple things a first-timer must know before competing. All newcomers must be familiar with the WCA Regulations before competing. There is a video here for the basic overview of the rules.
In addition, please read this document before coming to the competition. Huge thanks to Olivér Perge and Niki Placskó for the document!
Please read this section carefully. Changes in organization have been made modeled off of Hungarian competitions in Europe. When you arrive, you will receive a lanyard with personalized information detailing your events and what group you will be competing in for each event. In addition, you will also have staff assignments on your lanyard. Every competitor is expected to help out this competition. The card will look somewhat like the following:
* S - scrambling
* R - running
* J - judging
Please note that everyone is expected to help only during the events they are registered for, and everyone need only help for one group per event. If you do not arrive to help during your scheduled event, and there are not enough staff members, we reserve the right to disqualify you from competing.
If you reach the time limit during your solve, the judge will stop you and your result will be DNF (see Regulation A1a4).
The result to beat to proceed to the second phase of a cutoff round (see Regulation 9g).
The format describes how to determine the ranking of competitors based on their results. The list of allowed formats per event is described in Regulation 9b. See Regulation 9f for a description of each format.
